For veterans and their families, transitioning to civilian life can feel overwhelming.
The Veterans Wellbeing Foundation exists to change that.
As a charitable organisation built by veterans, for Veterans, we provide practical support that makes a real difference—right when it’s needed most.
Nestled within one of Sunshine Coast’s newest health hubs, we connect those we serve with direct access to GPs, allied health professionals, and specialised services designed to address their unique needs.
From mental health support and rehabilitation to compensation advocacy and employment assistance, we ensure no one walks this journey alone.
01
We connect veterans and their families with GPs, allied health professionals, and mental health resources.
Our focus is on timely, compassionate care tailored to their unique needs, helping them achieve better physical and emotional well-being.
02
Navigating life after service can be challenging.
We offer guidance on compensation claims, employment pathways, and housing support, ensuring every veteran has the tools and opportunities to thrive in civilian life.
03
At the heart of everything we do is creating a sense of belonging.
Through our programs, community events and initiatives, we foster relationships that honour service, strengthen resilience, and empower veterans to connect with their communities.
VWF was born out of Peter Kennedy’s passion and firsthand understanding of the struggles veterans face.
Having navigated his own battles and frustrations with a system plagued by delays, Peter envisioned a better way … a system where veterans and their families could access the support they need without unnecessary barriers.
Retired Warrant Officer Peter Kennedy (affectionately known as PK) served over 32 years in the Royal Australian Air Force as a C130 Loadmaster.
His career included multiple deployments to Iraq, Afghanistan, and East Timor, along with extensive humanitarian and disaster-relief missions worldwide.
This is a game-changer for our community—a space where we can make a tangible difference
Peter Kennedy
PK’s vision for the Veterans Wellbeing Foundation is deeply rooted in his belief that no veteran should feel unsupported.
Beyond his military service, PK has continued to dedicate his life to supporting his community.
He serves as the President of Young Veterans Sunshine Coast, a well-being officer for Beerwah RSL, and a stakeholder group member for the Veterans Royal Commission.
Under Peter’s leadership, the Foundation continues to grow, supported by partnerships with government bodies, local organisations, and dedicated advocates.
His relentless commitment to making a difference ensures that the Veterans Wellbeing Foundation remains a beacon of hope and support for veterans and their families across the Sunshine Coast.
At the Veterans Wellbeing Foundation, we provide more than just services—we offer a lifeline to veterans and their families.
With practical solutions, compassionate guidance, and a community that understands their journey, we address unique challenges and create pathways to health, resilience, and brighter futures.
